Welcome to United Home Care

Providing Non-Medical Services for the Elderly, Blind and Disabled

We understand that seniors and people with disabilities are most comfortable when they’re at home. United Home Care offers non-medical home care that gives dignity and self-respect to our clients, while allowing them to safely remain in their homes and not be forced to move into a nursing facility.

What is Home Care?

In-home care, also known as home care, is nonmedical care provided in the client’s home. It includes custodial care for elderly people and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) as well as companionship, socialization, and cognitive stimulation for seniors.

The assistance of home care aides allows many elderly adults to remain at home when they are not ready to relocate to a residential care community. It’s also a good option for those who just need some assistance and are otherwise independent, as the amount of care can be personalized for each individual’s needs, from one afternoon per week to 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

When to Seek Home Care Services

You may be acting as a sole caregiver to a family member and have been struggling with the decision to ask for professional assistance. A nursing home or retirement home may seem like logical options, but the emotional trauma a senior or elderly person endures when leaving their cherished home can be overwhelming to everyone involved. Research has shown that seniors flourish when they remain in their homes with familiar surroundings.

Deciding upon home care is a difficult and stressful choice that involves many factors, including logistics, emotions and whether home care costs are affordable. Getting expertise and advice from a reputable source should be your first step.

“After multiple operations, I haven’t been very mobile around the home. Fortunately, I have amazing caregivers to help me not only around the house, but also with self-care.”
